Who Are Our Students?

At Laurel Wreath Academy, we welcome students of all abilities and celebrate the unique strengths, challenges, and potential of every child. Our K-12 school is designed for children with learning differences, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and those on the autism spectrum who thrive in a nurturing, structured, and individualized learning environment.

We recognize that every student learns in their own way and at their own pace. Our Montessori-based, Classical education-infused approach allows us to meet each child where they are, fostering academic growth, independence, and confidence. Our students benefit from multi-age classrooms, hands-on learning experiences, and individualized education plans tailored to their specific needs and goals.

Collaborative Support for Student Success

We believe in a team-based approach to education. Our classrooms are designed to work collaboratively with students’ behavioral support providers, including Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and personal nursing staff when needed. By fostering open communication and partnership, we ensure that each student receives the support they need to succeed in a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment.

Creating a Safe and Supportive Learning Space

At this time, Laurel Wreath Academy is best suited for students with mild to moderate behavioral support needs. While we are committed to supporting individualized behavioral interventions and positive reinforcement strategies, we do not currently have the capacity or environment to support students with significant mental health or behavioral challenges that require intensive intervention.

Our top priority is maintaining a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment for all students. We work closely with families to assess whether our school is the right fit for their child’s needs, ensuring that every student who joins our community can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in our setting.
